“Eyes” symbolize His all-watchful and wise providence for His Church, and against her foes. The Greek for “sent forth,” apostellomena, or else apestalmenoi, is akin to the term “apostle,” reminding us of the Spirit-impelled labors of Christ’s apostles and minister throughout the world: if the present tense be read, as seems best, the idea will be that of those labors continually going on unto the end.
But B reads, “being sent forth.” As the seven lamps before the throne represent the Spirit of God immanent in the Godhead, so the seven eyes of the Lamb represent the same sevenfold Spirit profluent from the incarnate Redeemer in His world-wide energy. Seven eyes … the seven Spirits … sent forth-So one oldest manuscript, A. Seven horns-that is, perfect might, “seven” symbolizing perfection “horns,” might, in contrast to the horns of the Antichristian world powers, Re 17:3 etc. The Amplified Version offers the following insights:Ħ And there between the throne (with the four living creatures) and among the elders I saw a Lamb (Christ) standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns (complete power) and with seven eyes (complete knowledge), which are the seven Spirits of God who have been sent into all the earth.
He had seven horns and seven eyes, which represent the sevenfold Spirit of God that is sent out into every part of the earth. Some translations put it as the “sevenfold” Spirit of God, but most do not:Ħ Then I saw a Lamb that looked as if it had been slaughtered, but it was now standing between the throne and the four living beings and among the twenty-four elders. The main verse for this topic comes from Revelation 5:6:Ħ And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. Like most things coming out at this time, they are important for the soon to be revealed glory and the soon to be released Armies of the Lord.
The teaching on the Seven Spirits of the Lord was first given to the prophet Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj as a birthday gift from the Lord Jesus back in March 1994, but he has not written about it until now (see link at bottom – On Eagle’s Wings, December 2015).
